Piece Church

Put Down the Sword and Pick Up the Cross

A Valley Station Road church is sponsoring an "Open Carry Church Service" in late June, encouraging people to wear unloaded guns in their holsters, enter a raffle to win a free handgun, hear patriotic music and listen to talks by operators of gun stores and firing ranges.

Pastor Ken Pagano of New Bethel Church said the first-time event is "basically trying to think a little bit outside the box" to promote "responsible gun ownership and 2nd Amendment rights."

The event, slated for late Saturday afternoon, June 27, is being promoted with online posters, including one using a red font resembling splattered blood with the words: "Open Carry Church Service."

Beam me Up

Is Star Trek a Religion?

Good News in Today's Economy

God's Way

There's the world's way of trying to pay off bills, and there's God's way of supernaturally paying off bills. The Holy Spirit will stir you through these words that you will know nothing is impossible unto you.

By the time you finish reading this book, there is going to be a divine impartation of the Spirit, the presence, and the anointing of God into your life. You will be charged up and on fire because the words in this book are God's Words of Spirit and Life. Like lightning striking and setting you on fire, the Holy Spirit will so stir you through these words that you will know that nothing is impossible to you.

Family see Jesus image in Marmite

Claire Allen said she was the first to notice the image on the underside of the lid as she was putting the yeast spread on her son's toast.

Her husband said he could not believe his eyes when he saw it.

Mr Allen said: "The kids are still eating it, but we kept the lid."

He explained: "Claire saw it first and called her dad to come and take a photo of it.

"When I first looked at it I wasn't sure, but when I moved it away from me it started coming out. I thought yeah, she's right - that's the image of Jesus.

Flat Earth

One True Way

The Kansas Education Board, which gained new momentum in its efforts to "de-emphasize" rational scientific inquiry after a decision last November requiring Kansas teachers to define the widely accepted theory of evolution as "godless Communist propaganda" in favor of creationism, also known as intelligent design, is now promoting a full-fledged faith-based curriculum touted by the board as "the One True Way".

But Who Is Voldemort?

Potter and Weasley Identified

On May 13, a 50th Anniversary Open House was held at the Church of the Brethren General Offices in Elgin, Ill. "What do these stones mean to you?" (Joshua 4:6) was the theme.

The Open House began with building tours. At 2 p.m. "Worship in Word and Song" was held in the unique stone-walled chapel, led by Wil Nolen and the choir of Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren. The speaker was Annual Conference secretary Fred Swartz who compared several Brethren to characters in the Harry Potter novels.
