...if you’re showing me as voiceless, as hopeless, you have no space telling my story. You shouldn’t be telling my story if you don’t believe that I also have the power to change what is going on. And this video seems to say that the power lies in America, it does not lie in my government, it does not lie with local initiatives on the ground. That aspect is lacking and this is the problem. It is furthering that narrative about Africans - totally unable to help themselves and needing outside help all the time...

Lorax Sighting

There's a buzz throughout the world of cryptozoology as a rare Lorax has been spotted in Elgin. The elusive indicator species was spotted over the weekend outside of the BVS House, located in Elgin, Illinois. While some are encouraged by the sighting of this rare creature, others quickly point out that its appearance raises concerns about deforestation.

Oil for Peace

The strapped for cash General Board has announced that is in the early stages of negotiations to sell the oil rights to it's New Windsor and Elgin properties. The income garnered from the deal could help restore much of the programs that have been reduced due to a lack of funds. Ironically, the Board will not be examining the environmental impact in any great detail because of its recent, drastic cut backs to the Brethren Witness Office.
